Since July 2000, all 50 states have begun the process to implement 2-1-1 systems. Systems are also in place in Washington D.C. and Puerto Rico. Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) has also reserved 2-1-1 for community I&R. There are two active 2-1-1 call centers in Canada.
